The story of Edmonds Honey began in 1949 when Murray’s interest in bees caused him to buy two hives from a local beekeeper. Murray’s fascination of the bees, the organisation of their hives and their productiveness proved to be a most rewarding hobby. John joined his father in a partnership which continued until Murray retired in 1990. John has maintained the business at Mt Duneed on the same basis as was started by his father selling only quality varieties of honey each with its own distinctive flavour.

All Edmonds Honey is 100% naturally pure gathered mainly from the State Forests and National Parks of Victoria. John rears his own queen bees from the Caucasian and Carniolan races of queens and selects from their progeny ones which have a gentle disposition and productiveness,

The honey is extracted from combs by centrifugal force and is only warmed to clarify it for packing. The use of low temperatures in processing is critical as it ensures the natural enzymes are not destroyed and the beneficial health giving properties and natural flavour of the honey is not lost.The honey is processed without chemicals, there are no additives, artificial colourings or flavourings added and the product is GM FREE. Hives are located in areas away from crops minimising the risk of chemical pollution and at no stage are bees fed with sugars ensuring honey collected is as near to pure as possible.
